Safety First

• Parents or trusted adults should accompany children and youth during trick-or-treating

Drivers

• Slow down and be on alert while driving through residential neighborhoods
• Adults going to a party - Make a plan, have a designated driver or use a rideshare

For Visibility

• Add reflective tape to costumes and trick-or-treat bags
• Carry a flashlight or glow stick while out trick-or-treating
• Stick to well-lit and paved roads. Use the sidewalks whenever available. If you need to cross the street, use a crosswalk.

Trick-or-Treaters

• Use the buddy system, and don't let anyone wander off alone
• Only trick-or-treat at homes that have a porch light on
• Do not go into a stranger's home or get in their car

After Trick-or-Treating

• Examine candy to make sure it has not been tampered with
• Keep your pets safe - place candy, especially chocolate, out of reach or smell
