Officer Harvey was killed in an automobile accident in the line of duty. Officer Harvey’s patrol vehicle suffered a blowout causing it to go out of control. During the blowout, Officer Harvey was pursuing a speeding vehicle. The blowout caused Officer Harvey’s vehicle to flip approximately 15 times, according to witnesses.
Officer Harvey had served with the Jacksonville Police Department for three years and was survived by his wife.
